Born and bred in small town Quebec, Renée (aka The Feisty Chef) never thought she would end up cooking for a living, but after more than twenty years in the biz, she has yet to question her calling. She has worked at notable restaurants throughout Canada, as well as spending time working in Italy and the Caribbean.
Several years ago, Renée stepped away from the restaurant world to spend time consulting, hosting the popular Canteen Family Dinners and raising a family. The Canteen is Renee's third "baby" (after her other kids, Zoe and Philippe). She is super excited to get back to focussing on the basics, so she can cook inspired food with amazing people.
We are a group of dedicated culinary and service professionals united by our passion for honest food and exceptionally hospitality. Our menu at The Canteen is created in collaboration by the entire team. Upon visiting our restaurant, one of the first things that you'll notice is that we work in a kitchen without walls. We don't want to hide how much we love our work and our customers. If you have any questions or comments, don't be shy - we love to talk food!
